ClearinghouseJob DescriptionLawyers Clearinghouse is seeking a
part-time Access to Justice (A2J) Fellows Program Manager. The A2J
Fellows Program places retired judges and lawyers transitioning to
retirement with legal services organizations, other nonprofits,
government agencies, and courts in need of pro bono legal and
program assistance and creates a lifelong learning community for
Fellows.
This is a part-time, hybrid position supervised by the Executive
Director. It requires regular attendance at meetings in Boston and
a willingness to travel locally in Greater Boston for recruitment
and nationally for conferences. Expected schedule of 17.5 hours per
week with a salary of $32,500-37,500, commensurate with experience.

community in pro bono service to nonprofit organizations and their
homeless and low-income clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management and Outreach
- Administer yearly fellowship program by recruiting and matching
new Fellows and Partner Organizations, providing support and
resources to Fellows, planning and executing monthly fellowship
lunches, and conducting surveys and interviews;
- Manage alumni engagement by running biannual alumni events,
publishing monthly updates, and creating new volunteer
opportunities for all Fellows;
- Organize, manage, and speak at opening and closing receptions
for Fellows, as well as annual information sessions;
- Run development efforts for the program and cultivate donors by
soliciting funding from Fellows, law firms, organizations, and
foundations and collecting fees and donations from Partner
Organizations;
- Recruit and supervise a Lawyers Clearinghouse A2J Fellow or A2J
intern;
- Create and execute strategies to track, articulate, and
showcase program impact;
- Generate continued publicity and recognition for the A2J
Fellows Program; and
- Advise other states starting pilot programs modeled after the
Access to Justice Fellows Program and attend national conferences
to share the program model.
Diversity Equity and Inclusion in the A2J Fellows Program
- Coordinate with Lawyers Clearinghouse Culture & Systems Manager
to (i) promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; (ii) set and
accomplish annual DEI goals for the A2J Fellows Program; (iii)
collect and analyze data about projects; and (iv) recruit members
of the A2J Committee, co-facilitate meetings, and ask committee
members for guidance on A2J Fellows Program meetings and
operations.Data Management and Reporting
- Draft A2J Fellows Program reports and minutes for board
meetings;
- Create A2J Fellows Program spreadsheets, forms, templates, and
files and enter, track, and update A2J Fellows Program data;
- Collect, compile and report data for grants reports and
applications;
- Maintain A2J Fellows Program SharePoint site; and
- Review and update A2J Fellows Program narratives.Staff and
Board Engagement
- Staff and manage the A2J Committee, schedule meetings, and
create agendas;
- Work closely with the Clearinghouse Board of Directors and the
A2J Committee to set goals and priorities;
- Attend twice-weekly staff meetings, board meetings and
retreats, and help with Annual Meeting.QUALIFICATIONS AND
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years' work experience
- Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts or experience in pro
bono coordination and management in a legal setting
- Experience assisting or working with legal services or other
nonprofit organizations and supporting volunteers
- Passion for increasing access to justice in Massachusetts
- Familiarity with private law firm and corporate pro bono
culture
- Ability to build and sustain productive partnerships with
volunteers, nonprofits, law firms, and funders
- Excellent project management, communication, and presentation
skills
- Well-organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, and familiar
with Boston and surrounding communities
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and
inclusion
- Works independently and creatively, and as a member of a small
team
- Proficiency in languages other than English is a
