Responsibilities Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to
patients across the lifespan with urgency and compassion Triage,
assess, and prioritize acute presentations to keep the ED flowing
safely Administer medications, start and manage IVs, and perform
necessary procedures within scope Collaborate closely with
physicians, ancillary services, and the ED team to coordinate
patient care Document assessments, interventions, and patient
responses accurately in the medical record Support patient and
family education during stressful moments with clear, compassionate
communication Participate in unit-based quality improvement and
safety initiatives to enhance care Qualifications Active Registered
Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or compact RN license 3-5 years of
emergency room nursing experience (as noted in the posting) Current
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Comfort working nights
and providing weekend coverage (every other weekend) Strong
critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork skills
Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (BSN) preferred Knowledge & Skills Solid emergency
triage and acute care assessment skills Proficiency with IV
therapy, medication administration, and common ED procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, small critical access
hospital setting Good documentation practices and familiarity with
electronic health records Calm under pressure, strong
