DESCRIPTION: Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory
diagnostic tests. Basic laboratory skills, maintenance, QC, and
troubleshooting abilities. Understand the clinical significance of
the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training,
correction of procedural/Instrument issues. EDUCATION: Bachelor's
degree in biological science or chemistry or associate's degree
acceptable (with 5 years' experience). Medical Laboratory Scientist
or Medical Technologist certified, or certificate qualified in the
field. If certificate qualified, certification to occur within 1
year of hire date, exception or length of time can be modified by
Administrative Director. (Certification tracked by department.)
EXPERIENCE: The role requires strong basic laboratory skills,
proven experience with quality control and routine maintenance,
effective communication, and—most importantly— prior hands?on
clinical laboratory experience . SCHEDULE: This is a night shift
from Tuesday - Friday, 9:30 pm to 7:00 am SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS:
Evening: $3.00, Night: $5.00, Weekend: $2.00 SIGN ON BONUS: For
eligible candidates, there is a sign on bonus of $5,000 (under 3
years' experience) and $7,500 for 3 or more years of experience.
