Physical Therapist Location: White River Junction, VT Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $964 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: One year of experience as a PTA in a home health care setting is preferred License: Must be a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the applicable states or hold a compact license Certifications: Unencumbered PTA license Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school as a Physical Therapy Assistant Description: Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire provides superior nursing, rehabilitation, hospice, and personal care services. Our goal is to help the people in our communities. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist. You will provide physical therapy services according to a patient plan of care. Your responsibilities include treating patients as prescribed by a physician. You will conduct initial and periodic evaluations of patients' physical therapy and rehabilitation needs. You will treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means. These may include exercises, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity. You will direct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, and activities of daily living. This includes transfer activities and prosthetic training. You will make use of equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generation, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines. You will observe, record, and report to the registered Physical Therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any change in the patient’s condition. You will teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques and activities as appropriate. You will complete and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner. This is in accordance with expected agency standards.
