it.Compensation OverviewThe annual base salary range provided for
this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad
range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual
salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors,
including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the
skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the
candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our
comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also
eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary
Range$135,700.00 - $223,900.00Target Openings1What Is the
Opportunity?Travelers is seeking a Sr. Dir, Delivery Lead to manage
key strategic technical projects across the Corporate Functions
Value Stream, which provides technical support and strategy across
the Human Resources, Learning, Legal, Audit and Corporate Services
departments. In this position, you will leverage your expertise to
lead and influence complex initiatives that span multiple
stakeholders and business areas, ensure transparent and consistent
communication, and deliver results that align to business
objectives. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership,
communication, interpersonal skills and program management
experience in an agile delivery methodology, with the ability to
drive effective change across diverse business areas. Knowledge and
experience with delivering key initiatives involving SaaS platforms
and vendors is preferred.What Will You Do?
- The Senior Dir, Delivery Lead performs the following across a
value stream or highly complex cross business program:
- Optimize the flow of valuable solutions in a multi-team
environment by reducing dependencies, hand-offs, and systemic
waste
- Plan and facilitate Program Increment planning events; ensure
work is incorporated in Program Increment plans and capacity is
reserved for technical and operational enablers, refactoring, and
unknowns.
- Build feedback loops through cross-team reviews and engage all
key stakeholders, promoting faster learning cycles
- Drive relentless improvement through multi-team retrospectives,
metrics, assessment analysis, and other means
- Escalate and track risks and impediments to eliminate systemic
waste to improve the flow of value.
- Create transparency into the progress of cross-team work
through visible boards, operational metrics, forums, dashboards,
etc.
- Manage cross-team dynamics. Coordinate team building and
cross-team communication
- Promote and teach effective software delivery practices
- Provide input on resourcing to address critical
bottlenecks
- Perform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate
Have?
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Seven years of experience in an agile/execution leadership role
delivering technology solutions on a demanding schedule including
delivery of several epics, releases and versions and application of
a wide variety of patterns and techniques (i.e., multi-team
planning techniques, facilitating retrospectives, dependency
management, etc.) preferred.
- Programming/development experience preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and a deep strategic mindset
preferred.
- Proven analytical skills and experience making decisions based
on hard and soft data preferred.
- Deep knowledge of the line of business with the ability to
develop and leverage business and/or vendor partnerships, consult
on business priorities, and optimize value through solution
identification aligned with business objectives preferred.What is a
Must Have?
- 4 years of relevant technology experience required.
- 3 years of people management or team leadership experience
required.
- 3 years of Program Management in an Agile environment or
