How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own GDIT is seeking a talented Software Development Business Solutions Analyst who is passionate about data-driven decision-making and curious about business strategy. This individual must be motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact some of GDIT’s most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country. The work you’ll do will be impactful to the mission of our NYS customer. You will play a crucial role as you join our team in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to more than 7.0 million New Yorkers through its Health Benefit Exchange (HBE). A Day in the Life Design and develop a dynamic dashboard for slicing, filtering, and visualizing requirements and change request data. Collect, clean, and structure Excel datasets for dashboard ingestion. Maintain manual tracking of requirements and Change Requests (CRs) with status, priorities, and resource allocation. Create visual reports to highlight trends, workload distribution, and progress. Collaborate with team members to gather feedback and iterate on dashboard features Must Haves Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field from a United States-based college or university. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams) Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data organization) Basic understanding of data visualization and dashboard design What You’ll Need to Deliver Your Best Every Day Strong communication skills. A sense of genuine, intellectual curiosity and a nimble mindset What you Offer as a Stand-Out Candidate Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar dashboard tools Basic knowledge of SQL or data handling Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) or Agile practices. GDIT interns are paid full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks. Applicants should have a minimum of one semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
