Job Description:
Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200 countries
and territories worldwide. Together with our customers, we’re
helping build a sustainable economy where everyone can prosper. We
support a wide range of digital payments choices, making
transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology
and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a
unique set of products and services that help people, businesses
and governments realize their greatest potential. Overview: The
Mid-Market segment accounts for nearly one-third of U.S. GDP and is
growing at an impressive 12% year-over-year. These companies are
the quiet powerhouses of the global economy—driving innovation,
creating jobs, and fueling sustainable growth. Yet, many especially
in the lower Mid-Market remain underserved—too large for small
business solutions, yet not quite suited for enterprise-scale
offerings. Recognizing this gap, Mastercard launched the Mid-Market
Accelerator—a suite of tailored solutions designed to meet the
unique needs of this high-potential segment. The U.S. Mid-Market
team is at the forefront of this mission. We’re building and
scaling innovative, customer-centric products to unlock growth for
these businesses. By combining deep market insights with
Mastercard’s global capabilities, our team is redefining what’s
possible for the Mid-Market. If you’re excited about creating
impact at scale and shaping the future of commerce, this is the
place to be. Role: We are looking for a Director, Mid-Market
Product Sales to drive revenue growth and expand Mastercard’s
presence in this segment. The primary focus of this role is on
sales execution and revenue generation, supported by product
management initiatives to enhance Mastercard’s Mid-Market
offerings. Key Responsibilities: • Own and execute a revenue-driven
sales strategy to grow Mastercard’s Mid-Market segment share across
U.S. • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, leveraging
data-driven insights to prioritize high-impact opportunities. •
Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and engage potential
customers through market research, networking, partnerships, and
direct outreach. • Solution Innovation & Consultative Selling:
Understand Mid-Market pain points and tailor Mastercard’s solutions
to address their unique challenges, including payment acceptance,
expense management, cash flow management, A/P and A/R and digital
transformation. • Pipeline Management & Sales Execution: Manage the
end-to-end sales process, from qualifying leads to negotiating
contracts and closing deals. • Represent Mastercard at industry
events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand
visibility and establish thought leadership in the SME space. •
Track and analyze performance metrics, adjusting sales tactics and
strategies as needed to exceed growth targets. • Support
go-to-market execution by collaborating with product, marketing,
and partnerships teams. • Analyze market trends, competition, and
SME lifecycle journeys to inform product and sales strategies,
driving differentiation and innovation. • Develop sales enablement
tools and training materials to support SME-focused sales
colleagues. All About You: The ideal candidate for this position
should have the following: • Proven experience in sales and
business development of card and beyond card products, driving
revenue growth with FIs and Fintechs • Experience in lead
generation, pipeline management, deal negotiation, and revenue
growth strategies. • Showcase excellent business acumen with strong
knowledge of GTM strategies, pricing models, and sales enablement •
Have experience in financial services and/or payments, with an
understanding of competitive offerings, industry trends, and
profitability drivers • Have strong relationship management,
influencing, and communication skills. • Be self-motivated, a quick
learner, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment. • Strong understanding of the Mid-Market segment •
