Job Description:
The Purchase College Campus Technology Services Department seeks
a Helpdesk Technician to provide responsive support for campus
technology operations. Responsibilities will include: providing
basic and high-level technical support for faculty, staff, and
students; preparing documentation; conducting training as
necessary; and managing technical support operations and services
for computer labs and technology enhanced classrooms used by the
College’s academic programs. This position will provide a variety
of technical and customer support services including installing,
configuring, troubleshooting PC and Mac problems, network and
software problems, maintaining both Windows and Macintosh desktop
computers, software, services and printers in a networked
environment. Demonstrated strong experience supporting Windows and
Mac computers in a networked environment; ability to install and
configure computer hardware and software; ability to perform minor
repairs of hardware; experience troubleshooting network problems
with a variety of personal computers. The successful candidate must
possess excellent customer service skills, work well under
pressure, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be
able to work collegially and effectively in a team environment. A
bachelor’s degree or one year full-time previous work experience
supporting desktop computers is preferred, but not required.
Previous experience working in higher education is highly
